Hi! I’m Emma. I’m the Founder and CEO of Healthy Pets, which I created out of my own frustration. Like so many pet parents, I found it difficult to access reliable pet health information online, and I was never sure whether my worry warranted a trip to the vet. I needed help understanding whether my dog exhibited abnormal behaviour, or whether I was just being an overly concerned dog mom.
Healthy Pets connects you to a local veterinarian on demand through video chat. A virtual veterinary consultation will result in one of three outcomes:
Your concern falls under the “normal” category, and there’s no need to take further action.
Your concern is warranted, but commonly resolves itself. Your vet may suggest trying one of our PPA (pet parent approved) products.
Your concern warrants a trip to the vet. Feel free to visit the clinic you’re already familiar with, but if you loved your virtual interaction or are looking to try something new, we’ll let you know where your local veterinary clinics are located (and incorporate their Google ratings), including the clinic where your local Healthy Pets vet works. (Pssst! Don’t forget to let your vet know that you were referred though Healthy Pets! We’re working on partnering with clinics to save you money.)

Healthy Pets envisions a world where pet parents can take control of their pet’s health and wellness through easy access to reliable information sourced from veterinary professionals, who are able to improve their profession through the reduction of harmful or otherwise false pet health information.
As the Founder of Healthy Pets, Emma spends most of her day thinking about how she can help simplify pet parenthood. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading and hot yoga. She lives in Oakville, Ontario with her partner, Nigel, and their adorable yellow Lab, Bo. She holds a Bachelor of Management from Western University and a Masters of Science from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Bo took on the role of Chief Inspiration Officer for Healthy Pets as a result of his chronic health issues, both minor and major. His parents grew tired of unnecessary veterinary appointments as a result of their new parenthood nerves, and wanted a better way to access the information they sought after. Bo is now a healthy and rambunctious one year old, who spends his days sleeping, eating, swimming, and chewing sticks (that is, of course, when he is not busy inspiring corporate strategy!).
